First of all, apologies for my failure to post these promptly, I keep them in a notebook as I think of them each day, and then don’t always remember to put them on the site that night. It took until September 20th for me to sit down and key them all in, mega-fail, but it is corrected now!
1. When I say, “Kill me now,” I don’t mean it as I am already dead inside.
2. Trying to be less meddlesome felt somewhat restrictive, somewhat cumbersome.

4. The water rushed out of the hands of the fountain, and it seemed as though it was trying to flood the streets free of all of us: rats, humans, all vermin.
5. You can’t spell “service” without V I C E.
6. The smell was unmistakable: the lurker had returned.
7. The waiting was agonizing, that burst of anticipation for which the breaking point was only moments away.
8. Being wrong never felt so right.

10. The sun did its old standard setting trick, and once again, no one was impressed.
11. She’d never had much of a mind for memories, so this recollection was a bit of an aberration for her.

19. His smile quickly faded and formed a grimace, as the smell of the decomposing body reached his nostrils.
20. It’ll be nice to let someone else get a turn at sucking the life out of me, as this company has had their turn for 3 years now.
21. This world has run out of miracles.

26. The charred remains of the house continued to smolder, while a cool autumn rain poured down on them.
27. The smell of baking cookies wafted throughout the house.
28. The empty spaces would never get filled, and would actually become deeper as time took its toll on them.
29. The full moon glared down angrily from the sky, as if to warn folks of the trouble ahead.
30. The harsh reality was crashing in on them, and they could no longer run from it, but were too cowardly to face it.
